Ariel Helwani, of Fanhouse, caught up with Mr. T recently and quizzed him about Quinton Rampage Jackson’s reprisal of the B.A. Baracus role in the The A-Team 2010 flick. Mr. T appeared to genuinely respect and appreciate Jackson’s part in The A-Team Heritage, saying that he was “honored” and that he’s “too blessed to be stressed.”
“I have much love for him,” Mr. T said. “I do. It’s going to become a pressure thing because people are going to come up to him and say, ‘Hey, you’re not Mr. T.’ They are going to try to get in his head just to meddle with him.
“But very rarely do they do a movie remake with the TV cast. I’m honored.”
There had been some rumblings that Mr. T was offended that he wasn’t chosen to play the role of “Baracus” again, but the 57-year-old vehemently denied those rumors.
IESB caught up with Jessica Biel recently and asked her about how the A-Team production was going. Biel gave the movie’s production a lot of praise, complenting director Joe Carnahan and says The A-Team is really beautiful.
It’s going really, really well. It’s been a complete blast. It’s really fun. I’m getting to work a lot with weapons again, which I haven’t done in a long time. That sounds kinda weird, but it’s the best to learn about that kind of thing. The cast is wonderful. Joe Carnahan, our director, is hitting the nail right on the head. We’ve got a really interesting tone going on.
I think I was a little concerned, at first, about whether we were going to be really super-cheesy or dark, or what we’d be doing. And, I think we’ve found lots of humor, at the same time that it’s quite emotional with dramatic moments. I think it’s going to be a lot of different things combined into this one movie. But, there are a lot of throw-backs and a lot of paying homage to the original show.
We’re in the middle of it, so it’s hard to know. I think it’s going really well. Everyone says it’s looking really beautiful and the scenes are cutting together really well. That’s pretty much all I can say.
Bradley Cooper was quoted as saying: “In Alias, I wasn’t the action guy. I got the s**t beat out of me, got tortured a lot, lost teeth, became a heroin addict, and left after the second season. I was never on the giving end of it. But in The A-Team, I get that chance.” – via New York Magazine
He loved the script from the start, and practically begged to get the part of Face.
Bradley Cooper, who plays “Faceman” in the new A-Team movie has been recently quoted as calling Liam Neeson a “fantastic” Hannibal. Not that we really expected anything less of Liam, who always knocks the lights out (*ahem, Taken) with his performances.
And, judging by how great he looks in the new A-Team promo photo, it’s easy to imagine how well Neeson transfers over to the big screen with Hannibal.
Spoiler alert. Jessica Biel reveals a little bit of the plot in this clip. Not a big spoiler, but she does talk about what happens at the end of the movie.
In this behind-the-scenes clip, Entertainment tonight talks with Bradley Cooper (Faceman) and Jessica Biel, who plays Carissa Sosa, a prior love interest of Faceman. In the above clip you also see a little bit of action from what appears to a be the actual set with Quinton Jackon and Sharlto Copely as, BA and Murdock, respectively.
Also, here’s a little more from Jessica Biel in an MTV interview talking about her character, what kind of action to expect (”serious action” and “less campy” she says).
Slashfilm just dropped the first official photo of the new A-Team, featuring Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck, Liam Neeson as Col John ‘Hannibal’ Smith, Sharlto Copley as Capt. ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock, and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson as Sgt Bosco ‘B.A.’ Baracus.
It’s been over two decades since the last episode of The A-Team aired. I grew up watching The A-Team. I was 5 when when the series first aired in 1983. As a child of the 80’s, I loved Star Wars, Airwolf, and The A-Team.
Needless to say, I was stoked when I learned that The A-Team was coming back, but this time on the Big Screen. As of now, The A-Team movie is set to air on June 11, 2010. Production on the movie is set to begin in August 2009.
The A-Team Movie Cast
The cast so far is as follows:
Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck
Liam Neeson as Col. John “Hannibal” Smith
Common is rumored as Sgt. Bosco “B.A.” Baracus
If you aren’t familiar with all these guys, Bradley Cooper has previously played in Alias (as Will Tippin), Nip/Tuck (as Aidan Stone) and Wedding Crashers (as Zachary “Sack” Lodge).
The plot is supposed to be set post-Iraq War. The A-Team are trying to clear their names with the US Military for crimes they didn’t commit, which involves them tracking down four other guys who actually committed the crime and framed Smith, Murdock, Baracus and Peck.
The A-Team – Season 5 originally aired from September 1986 through March 1987. The March 8, 1987 episode entitled “Without Reservations” was the only episode to air in 1987 and was the final episode of the series after a 2-month absence since the December 30, 1986 episode. The A-Team – Season 5 only had 13 episodes total, which are as follows:
Dishpan Man
Trial By Fire
Firing Line
Quarterback Sneak
The Theory Of Revolution
The Say Uncle Affair
Alive At Five
Family Reunion
Point Of No Return
The Crystal Skull
The Spy Who Mugged Me
The Grey Team
Without Reservations
NBC moved The A-Team to Friday nights for its fifth season (it had previously aired on Tuesday nights). Ratings plummeted and The A-Team dropped out of the Top 50 TV shows. NBC decided to cancel The A-Team series in November 1986, thus leaving the planned 22-episode season shortened by 9 episodes. The complete Season 5 is available on DVD at Amazon.com.
